SYSTEMS - INDUSTRIAL
Many Industrial Processes pose the risk of fire and business interruption from a fire related loss. These operations typically involve flammable liquids, high heat or both. Flammable liquids pose hazards from storage and application by either spraying or dipping. Special risks occur whenever heat used to dry or cure flammable materials or materials that produce flammable vapors.
Two types of systems are used for these exposures.
- Dry Chemical Systems are cost-effective in dealing with these hazards. These systems are often pre-engineered for typical hazards such as flammable storage rooms, spray booths and dip tanks and associated drain areas. These systems typically use heat detectors. Dry Chemical systems should only be used in applications where clean up of the excess extinguishing agent can be tolerated.
- Carbon Dioxide Systems Cards are used when an agent with little or no cleanup is desired. As one of the clean agents it leaves no residue and can be used in all types of industrial applications provided the protected space is un-occupied.
